Ladies and gentlemen, please give your big-big applause to the next cameraphone king, the Samsung M8910 Pixon12. This is the very first 12 megapixel snapper with full touchscreen function launched by Samsung. And like everybody have told you, this cameraphone can be easily compared and assumed to be a competitor to the Sony Ericsson Satio (Idou) when it comes to the specs, though the Satio will be a Symbian S60 5th edition powered smartphone and Samsung Pixon12 still using the same TouchWiz UI with few visual upgrades.
But still, this cameraphone loaded with huge list of high-end features, including the smart-auto mode that will automatically detect and switch the scene mode based on the object. It doesn’t always gets us the best picture quality but it’s a nice feature anyway. And the auto-focus tracking feature is nice too, where the AF function will automatically track and follow the selected focus point or object.
The Samsung M8910 Pixon12 is promised to be fast on the startup and image saving time at only 2 seconds, so users can move to the next shot quickly. And the camera itself, Samsung Pixon12 sports a 28mm wide-angle lens and a Xenon flash with a dedicated shutter key. This should be a crazy overdrive for all photo-freaks out there.
Video wise, this phone is able to record 720×480 pixel video at 30 fps with supports to a wide range variety of audio-video formats, such as H.264, DivX, Xvid, etc. The Share Pix feature will make image and video sharing so much easier. After they are tagged and rated, users can easily upload them to the social networking websites such as Facebook, MySpace, Friendster, Flickr, Picasa, Photobucket.
Now what’s a great camera without a great display, right? Well, this phone’s display is not only great, but also big! Samsung M8910 Pixon12 sports a 3.1″ AMOLED touchscreen display and boasts — the highly advertised — a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, while still provide us the power-saving feature. See? What did i told you? This device is really great! Still no info on its resolution, but some people are assuming that it’s gonna be a 240×400 pixel resolution.
Taking the features that the predecessor have left, Samsung M8910 Pixon12 now packed with Wifi and HSDPA-HSUPA support.
And not to forget, the GPS receiver, Bluetooth 2.1, FM radio, and some other cool features are filling out the phone’s amazing spec sheet.
The Samsung M8910 Pixon12 scheduled to hit Europe markets by the end of this month and will expand to other markets in August. And there is no info yet on the price.
