Apple iPad

This is not running desktop applications. It is in your pocket. It is not even multitasking, until this fall, at least. However, if you are looking for a device that is home to a Sci-fi, the iPad it is.

Not only that, but it’s almost like science fiction property, responding perfectly, with a ridiculously long battery life that netbooks or Windows-based tablets currently cannot touch. Was able to test out the $499, 16GB iPad thanks to the Mines bookstore, which has several units in stock. Overall, the device is pretty cool.

It should be noted that WiFi is not surprising have amazing reception, although the iPhone and iPod touch. The device also seems to lose signal every once in awhile for no apparent reason. Hopefully ths will get fixed in iPhone OS 3.2.1 (or something close to it).

For those wondering if the iPad will run Word, Excel or Mathematics, the answer to that (at least for now) from iPad is a great iPod touch, not a small Mac. The advantage is that thanks to an extensive set of APIs provided by Apple (Application Programming Interfaces), aPad applications are numerous, beautiful, cheap and optimized to run on the iPad, something that mainstream-OS tablets can’t match. That said, iPhone apps other than games look downright ugly when magnified by a factor of two so come even close to fitting the iPad’s high-resolution screen.

One advantage of IPAD now is that developers in the short-cycle exit, bugs are fixed quickly. In other words, there are still some bugs have been developed, such as native applications IPAD operate very differently from a user point of view than their counterparts iPhone. An interesting exception to the rapid release cycle is usually the same as Apple seems to be positive documents and presentations, iWork IPAD Mangles imported or exported to the desktop versions of exactly the same applications. No explanation for the difference has been proposed, but will hopefully get fixed sooner rather than later.
